In the snow, the area around Lake Bohinj does truly become a Winter Wonderland. Whether you just want to soak up the peace and tranquillity, build a snowman or get energetic on the piste, there is something for everyone.
With over 60km of cross country skiing trails in the valley, down-hill skiing and snowboarding at the Vogel Ski Resort, and activities such as sledging, snow hiking (snow-shoeing) and ice climbing, Bohinj offers an abundance of winter opportunities.
Skiing at Vogel
The Vogel Ski Centre is one of Slovenia’s highest ski resorts, with pistes up to 1,800m altitude. There is often good, natural snow until late April.
All of the necessary equipment can be hired here and you can book lessons, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skier looking to refine your technique. You can also go sledging with the kids, or just admire the views whilst enjoying a hearty Slovene dish in one of the restaurants.
Learn to snowboard for the first time or enjoy an acrobatic challenge; the Vogel Snow Park offers a variety of kickers, rails and boxes. For the more experienced, why not enter one of the competitions or sign up for one of the events?
