Terms & Conditions

We appreciate that no-one enjoys reading Terms & Conditions – they always sound so formal, and focus on the very rare occasions that things might go wrong. 


Please be assured that our primary aim is for you to have a wonderful, trouble-free stay in this beautiful corner of the world, and for the house to be in a perfect condition for you, and for the Guests of the future. If you have any questions or concerns, please do contact us to discuss.   

Definitions:

Accommodation: The property, Escape to Bohinj House.

Booking Guest: The person booking the Accommodation. The booking guest accepts these T&Cs on behalf of all Guests.

Guest(s): Person or persons staying at the Accommodation.

Owners: Liz & Danny Godfrey, owners of Escape to Bohinj House.

Rental Fee: The total rental charge in respect of the Accommodation booking, comprising the House rental, tourist tax and other possible extras.

Making a Reservation

Bookings can be made via our website (escapetobohinj.com/book) or by contacting the Owners by email or telephone (contact us) to check availability. For bookings made via our website, the Booking Guest will receive an automatically generated booking summary by email. Receipt of the booking summary does not form a contract between the Booking Guest and the Owners. A contract will only arise when the advance payment has been paid in full and the Owners confirm the booking via email to the Booking Guest.

A booking will be held for 24 hours to allow the Booking Guest sufficient time to make an advance payment of 20% of the House rental to confirm the booking. The advance payment can be paid via bank transfer or online card payment. Any banking fees in respect of payment transfers are the liability of the Booking Guest.

The balance of the Rental Fee is payable 30 days prior to the arrival date, either by bank transfer or online card payment. If the balance of the Rental Fee is more than three days late, the Owners will consider the booking to have been cancelled and release the dates.

Bookings made less than 30 days before the arrival date require full payment of the Rental Fee at the time of booking.

The Booking Guest will be required to provide personal identification information for all Guests to allow the Owners to register them with the relevant authorities (AJPES online registry) and make tourist tax payment, as required by Slovenian tourism regulations.

Upon receipt of the final balance and the Guest registration details, the Owners will issue the check-in details for the Accommodation.

Occupancy

Accommodation can only be used for holiday purposes, and only by the Guests. The Booking Guest will not sub-let the Accommodation or otherwise allow persons other than the Guests to stay at the Accommodation or use Escape to Bohinj House for camping or any other purpose.

Escape to Bohinj House accommodates a maximum of 6 Guests. An infant aged under two years can stay in addition, and we can provide a travel cot on request. Guests must provide their own bedding for the cot. The number of Guests can only be exceeded with the written agreement of the Owners and may incur additional charges.

Cancellation and Non-Usage by the Guests

Please notify the Owners in writing via email (info@escapetobohinj.com) if you need to cancel your booking.

In the event of cancellation by the Booking Guest, the Owners will endeavour to re-let the Accommodation. If the Owners can re-let your dates, we will refund you all or part of the sum you have paid, depending on the value of the replacement booking, less a €50 administration fee. The Booking Guest remains responsible for the full Rental Fee, and there will be no refund if we are unable to re-let the Accommodation. Any refund payments will be released to the Booking Guest on the date of departure of the cancelled stay.

The full amount of tourist tax charges paid by the Booking Guest are refundable in the event of cancellation before arrival.

Unless a booking has been cancelled in writing in accordance with these terms and conditions, the Owners are not liable for Guests’ non-use of the Accommodation due to disruption of transport, weather, illness, industrial action or any other reason beyond the Owners’ control, and no refunds will be made in respect of such non-usage.

If the Booking Guest is concerned that they may have to cancel their boking, they are encouraged to purchase cancellation protection insurance.

Cancellation by the Owners

Bookings to stay at Escape to Bohinj House are offered in good faith that the Accommodation will be fit for purpose and available for the agreed length of stay. In the event of the Accommodation becoming unavailable due to a problem with the property or facilities, or due to circumstances beyond the Owners’ reasonable control we have the right to either:

 

  1. Cancel the booking prior to commencement of the rental period and refund in full all payments made up to the date of cancellation; or
  2. If the rental period has already commenced, terminate your stay prior to the end of the rental period and refund the Rental Fee on a pro-rata basis.

The Owners will have no further liability in respect of a cancelled booking in these circumstances.

Where a reservation is terminated by the Owners due to the actions of the Guests, such as smoking indoors or other breaches of the T&Cs, this will be determined as cancellation by the Booking Guest.

Arrival & Departure

Check in is available from 4pm on the day of arrival, and Guests must check out by 10am on the day of departure.

In the event that the Guests are unable to meet these arrival/departure times, it is their responsibility to contact the owners to make alternative arrangements. Early/late arrival/departure can often be considered, depending on the timings of adjacent bookings.

Arrivals and departures are arranged using a keysafe located at the Accommodation. The keysafe code will be sent to the Booking Guest shortly before arrival as part of the final details.

Utility Supplies

The Owners can accept no liability for electrical outages or shortage of water as a result of drought or an act or omission of the relevant utility supply company, or for any other reason outside of the Owners’ reasonable control.

Guest Obligations

The Accommodation is a private home, and Guests are asked to respect and look after it as they would their own home.

Breakages & Damage

Please notify the Owners of any breakages or damage before you leave the Accommodation. We do not charge for breakages or damage occurring as a result of normal usage, but will require payment for breakages or damage resulting from reckless behaviour.

Smoking & Vaping

There is a strict no-smoking or vaping policy throughout the Accommodation. If Guests choose to smoke outside the Accommodation, cigarette ends must not be left in the gardens.

Pets

No pets are permitted at the Accommodation.

Recycling

Guests are asked to recycle and/or dispose of waste according to local regulation. Non-separation of recyclable waste can lead to fines which will, if appropriate, be passed on to the Booking Guest.

Security

Guests must leave the Accommodation secure when left unoccupied during the period of stay. All windows and doors must be securely shut when the Accommodation is unattended.

Heating

The Accommodation is heated using a environmentally friendly heat pump. When heating is required, the internal temperature will be set to 20°C prior to Guest arrival unless agreed otherwise in advance. Guests can change the heating temperature using the control panel in the house. Please note that the maximum temperature is 23°C, and it can take several hours for changes to become noticeable. A wood-burning stove is provided in the living/dining/kitchen room which heats up rapidly.

Cleaning

The Accommodation does not have to be thoroughly cleaned by the Guests on departure, but it should be left in good general order. In particular, washing up should be done/dishwasher put on, and rubbish and Guest possessions should be removed.

Good Conduct

The Booking Guest is responsible for ensuring all Guests are aware of these Terms & Conditions. The Owners expect and require all Guests to treat the Accommodation with respect and to be considerate and not cause a nuisance or disruption to local residents. The Owners reserve the right to demand immediate vacation of the Accommodation if Guests do not comply with these Terms & Conditions, or where conduct is considered to cause, or be likely to cause, danger, upset or distress to a third party or be detrimental to the Accommodation or the reputation of Escape to Bohinj. No refunds will be made in these circumstances.

Injury, Loss or Damage

The use of the Accommodation, grounds, roadway and equipment is at the Guests’ risk. Except as required by law, the Owners accept no liability for death or injury to any Guest or the injury, belongings or vehicles, however caused.

Owner Obligations

The Owners undertake to maintain the Accommodation in the same condition as advertised, notwithstanding minor changes to décor and fittings. In the event that any part of the property becomes faulty during the Guests’ stay, the Owners will endeavour to make repairs as quickly as possible; they may require temporary access to do so.

The Accommodation is provided fully furnished with heating, WiFi, bed linen, bath and hand towels, logs for the stove and beach towels for taking outside.

Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions

The Owners will deem payment of a Rental Fee or deposit thereon as acceptance by the Booking Guest of these Terms and Conditions. 

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions and any contract entered into hereunder between the Booking Guest and the Owners are subject to the laws of Slovenia.
